I ordered a Kentia Palm from Oxy-Plants. I chose Oxy because they were by fair the best value for money and the most efficient in processing and delivering my new plant baby. I ordered on the Thursday and it arrives on the Monday.I was half expecting the plant to be dehydrated or lost its zest for life. HOWEVER, I couldn't have been more wrong; dark healthy green leaves, beautiful shape to the body of the plant and all planted in a fairly moist post of potting compost.Wrll done Oxy, you've got a customer for life in me now! 😁

How To Care For Branched Banyan Fig Tree

Watering is easy with your branched banyan fig. Allow the top couple of inches to dry between watering to avoid overwatering. A great way to gauge this is to place your thumb in the soil. If it’s dry, it’s time to water! Have you tried one of our boutique watering cans? If you’re a new plant parent, take a look at our watering guide for some handy tips and tricks!

Like the usual Banyan Fig, the branched variety will also survive in most conditions, but they really thrive in a brightly lit spot. Being from the Inidian subcontinent, keep your Ficus benghalensis away from any cold or drafts. This will help to keep the leaves in tip-top shape!

The Banyan Fig prefers a humid environment, but isn’t too demanding on this front. Give a misting occasionally and keep the leaves dust-free. Why not buy one of our plant misters?

Banyan Figs prefer a rich, well-draining soil. Ensure the water can drain away from the pot freely and ensure it does not sit in water. It likes consistently moist soil.

Fertilise monthly during spring and summer to keep your Banyan Fig happy and healthy. We recommend Miracle-Gro Pump and Feed!

If using fertiliser is new to you, read our “How to Fertilise Your Houseplant” page!

As with many other members of the ficus family, it can occasionally become susceptible to pests such as scales and mealy bugs. To treat, simply order some of our neem oil on next day delivery, and spray on your leaves, soil until resolved!

If you think your plant is suffering from a pest or disease, take a look at our Pests and Infections page!

Although Branched Banyan Fig’s like to be kept quite root-bound, it is recommended to repot them every 2-3 years to allow some growth. If you want to keep your Ficus Roy from growing too tall you can pinch your plant back above a node, which also encourages it to branch out.

Wondering how to repot your houseplant? Take a look at our repotting guide. It has all the information you’ll need!

About Branched Banyan Fig Tree

The Branched Banyan Fig is a tropical indoor houseplant that certainly puts the “show” in showstopper. This variant of the popular Banyan Fig, was first found on the tropical sub-continent of Asia. This indoor plant finds itself in great company amongst the likes of other luscious leaved plants like the Bird of Paradise, Banyan Fig, and Fiddle Leaf Fig.

Natural Showstopper

The Branched Banyan fig is certainly a natural showstopping houseplant. This indoor plant will look perfect in your living room or conservatory, catching the eye as well as those sun-rays! Place this large houseplant in the corner of a room to round off any sharp edges in your room.

If you’re looking to show off this indoor plant’s looks, why not pair it with one of our sleeker and understated indoor pots? The curved classic would certainly make the perfect pair! Most of our pots will accommodate the pot-size of a branched Banyan Fig.

Easy-Care Houseplant

The Branched banyan fig is also one of our easy-care houseplants. Although exotic, there are no rules preventing beginners from owning this plant! With the right amount of watering and light, the branched banyan fig isn’t too fussy in comparison to other indoor plants (like the Weeping Fig “Danielle”).

So, if you’re looking for an easy-care houseplant that isn’t your typical English Ivy or Kentia Palm, why not consider a branched Banyan Fig?
