How To Care For Monkey Mask Plant
Monkey Masks really thrive when given a strict watering regiment. Long periods of no water need to avoid at all costs with this little monkey. Allow the top third of the soil to dry before topping up again. You should aim to water your monstera weekly and give it a good misting every so often.
Place your monstera in a brightly lit spot away from direct sunlight is best, as excessive exposure can cause the plant to look ‘washed-out’ and stunt it’s growth. Avoid an area too dark as this can cause the plant to suffer from root-rot and over-watering.
A normal house environment should be fine, but you can consider introducing a pebble tray to provide a more balanced humidity level

Fertilise your monkey mask lightly once per month during spring and summer.
Monsteras are typically well-resistant to pests and little critters. However, if your plant is to be affected, order some neem oil from our website. This natural insecticide is perfect to spray on leaves or soil and treat your plant as required until the infection subsides.
Once your plant becomes root-bound (the roots begin to outgrow your pot), then it’s time to invest in a new planter!
About Monkey Mask Plant
The Monkey Mask Plant is a tropical climber named appropriately for the holes in its leaves. Being a close relative to the infamous Swiss Cheese (monstera deliciosa) the monkey mask is a perfect addition for those wanting a smaller showstopper in their home! The Monstera Obliqua or Adonasii is naturally a climbing vine plant. It can be easily trained up a moss pole, over a mirror, down a bannister or anywhere you can imagine with some creativity. The Monkey Mask Plant requires high humidity levels so you might want to consider treating it to a misting. Spray the leaves at least once per week. Always keep the soil moist, without letting the plant stand in water. This prevents the leaf edges from drying out. The Monstera thrives in autumn, so don’t put it in the sun. A place that’s a bit darker is fine too.
Please note: this plant comes in a plastic nursery pot. Browse our entire range of plant pots to add that extra charm and character to your home.
