I usually don’t write reviewsI usually don’t write reviews, but this one was owed. Before purchasing my gorgeous Bird of Paradise I contacted the Company and got in touch with Cliah who went above and beyond to accommodate my request. Needless to say I received the plant in one day and is absolutely delightful. A very well deserved 5 start to them!

My Devil's Ivy plant arrived within a couple of days, very well packaged and totally healthy. Absolutely love it and the macrame hanger I ordered at the same time. Also, I made an email enquiry to oxy-plants and had the loveliest response. Such a positive experience, I strongly recommend this company for its efficiency and value for money.

When we wanted some advice about the right plants for our office space, Oxy-Plants were the obvious choice. There was lots of useful information on the website, and the customer service was second to none. When we had a problem, they fixed it, quickly and efficiently. We love the plants and love the prices - delivery was easy and the plants well packaged.

How To Care For Banana Plant ‘Musa Dwarf Cavendish’

Banana trees originate from tropical rainforests so they thrive with plenty of water and high humidity. Keep your banana tree’s soil moist but avoid overwatering to prevent root rot.

Give your banana plant as much light as you can give it. It needs at least 6 hours of direct sunlight throughout the year. If you have a dark home, this may not be the plant for you. You may want to consider supplementing with a grow light if you cannot meet these demands.

Banana plants prefer to be in a warm humid environment similar to the rainforests they come from. You want to really avoid cold temperatures and dry air as this can cause it to deteriorate rapidly. We recommend misting the leaves daily with one of our water misters, or introducing a pebble tray.

You’re going to want to give your banana plant rich soil with good drainage. Consider using worm castings to increase the nutrient value in the soil organically. They do like a slightly acidic soil which you can monitor with one of our soil combitesters.

Banana trees are super hungry plants and require pretty regular feeding. Use a balanced fertiliser through spring and summer and mix additional compost once a year to enrich the soil.

You can grow your banana tree in a pot but they can require a really big pot for optimal growth. As with all plants, make sure there is sufficient drainage to avoid root rot. You may need to repot once every three years and propagate any additional ‘suckers’.

About Banana Plant ‘Musa Dwarf Cavendish’

If there’s a better way to turn your home into a tropical jungle than adding a banana plant, then we don’t know about it. Born in the rainforests and delivered to your door, these dwarf cavendish banana plants make a stunning addition with deep, variegation on their leaves.

There is always a small probability of growing your bananas from home, but the chances are slim. Most people buy an indoor banana plant for its beautiful leaves and tropical charm.

Please note, Banana Plant leaves often tear and bend. This is natural for them and the journey for them can be quite traumatic. We understand it can be upsetting if your plant doesn’t arrive in perfect condition, but we pack them as best as possible to prevent this and they often produce new leaves in no time at all.

Please note: this plant comes in a plastic nursery pot. Browse our entire range of plant pots to add that extra charm and character to your home.
